The Problem Birds Create
When flocks of birds settle on critical infrastructure, the results can be destructive. At an electrical transfer station in Texas, thousands of starlings and grackles gathered in huge numbers. When they took off in unison, the weight and movement were enough to snap power lines and even trip breakers.
These incidents didn’t just cause headaches, they created outages, costly repairs, and major safety risks for both workers and the surrounding community. Traditional bird deterrents weren’t enough to keep the flocks away. Something stronger, yet humane, was needed.
Follow along in this video as we take you behind the scenes of falconry bird control, showing how our trained falcon solved a major bird problem in Texas.
How Falconry Bird Control Works
Falconry is an ancient practice that uses nature’s oldest partnership: the bond between humans and trained birds of prey. Falcons are natural predators, and when they take to the sky, problem birds instinctively scatter.
At this Texas site, AviAway’s team launched a 14-day program using our falconry bird control services, bringing in a trained falcon to keep pressure on invading flocks. Importantly, we never flew the bird directly inside the hazardous zone. Instead, the falcon flew just outside the area — always visible to the invading flocks.
Our falcon stayed active throughout the day, either hunting naturally or working the lure, which created constant pressure on the pest birds. Unlike deterrents that birds can eventually ignore, falconry taps into an instinctive fear response.
Results on the Ground
The effect was immediate and dramatic. Once the falcon took flight, the starlings and grackles abandoned the area. Over the 14-day program, bird numbers dropped, equipment damage stopped, and the client regained control over their facility.
Beyond solving the immediate crisis, falconry bird control provided a humane and environmentally friendly solution. No chemicals, no harm, just the natural relationship between predator and prey working to restore balance.
Behind the Scenes with Our Team
Our falconry programs are built on decades of experience. In the video below, you can see our falcon in action — flying strong, working the lure, and doing what comes naturally. It’s a rare behind-the-scenes look at how this specialized service works day-to-day.
From preparation to flight, everything is designed to keep pressure on the pest birds while ensuring the safety of the falcon and the surrounding environment. It’s hands-on, highly skilled work that only a trained falconer can provide.
Why Choose AviAway Falconry Bird Control
